So brilliant idea by Stephen Lee and Riley to have a BBQ for July 4th! It's so great to see the youngins stepping up to organize and coordinate things like this. Feels pretty different being an attendee sometimes.
It was potluck style and people made some pretty good sheesh-ka-bobs! Lol. I usually use that as a phrase, but this time it is actually the thing itself.
Then we had some kickball, a mini OOOHH AHHH game, football and of course... a water battle!!! The kick ball game was actually really close and intense. Reminds me of my elementary school years. Outfielding was always my favorite, and it still is! Game well played to all the participants!
Losers were supposed to get owned by water balloons, but in the end everyone just got owned.

Sigh... sadness is about to occur... after the BBQ, some people rushed over to community park for some fireworks. It's a really good show that the city of davis provides for free and lasts almost 30 min! can't complain there...
I biked there to try to meet up with some people but the show already started and meeting was impossible. Bleh.. in the end, i left my bag on the blacktop and when i realized i forgot it and returned back to look, it was gone. Rather not go into the frustrating details, but i was pretty bummed after that... even more bummed when i realized my domo wallet was in there as well. major fail...
I suppose it's a lesson to learn that those were all just materialistic things and God is trying to remind me that all those things are temporary and that He is everlasting. In case I forgot. Sigh... but that was a harsh lesson...
